How to adjust max_rows of existing table

#1

How do you adjust the maximum number of rows a table can have?
(eg. with alter table)

@tflinz you can do this with CREATE TABLE but once it’s created, you can’t adjust it. But if you already have, you could do a CREATE with a SELECT to copy existing data to a new table.

You can use a WITH clause to set or adjust the max_rows property.

Here’s a link to the documentation for the DDL, which talks more about using the max_rows property.

Thanks for the info,
do you know if there is an outstanding feature request for being able to alter existing tables in this manner?

There is not one currently, but we can create one… or I highly encourage you to create one in the MapD Core project in GitHub so we can gauge interest. That way it will get prioritized higher if other users desire it.
