Starting server on gpu mode

#1

Hi all,

I’ve installed the MapD GPU + CPU Community Edition on an Ubuntu 16.04 distribution. Following the installation instructions, when I start the server it’s working only on CPU mode and I don’t know how to change that. I’ve tried modifying mapd.conf file to explicitly point to use gpu or using mapdql> \gpu getting “Cannot switch to GPU mode in a server started in CPU-only mode.” as response.

Thank you in advance

Hi

What kind of GPU’s do you installed in your machine?

Can you please share the output of nvidia-smi from the command line on your machine.

Also please share the mapd_server.INFO log from your data/mapd_log/mapd_server.INFO file.

Regards

Hi,

I’ve already solved my problem. When you’ve asked me about GPU I realized I have two different GPU in the machine so I have specified in mapd.conf to use only one of it.

Thank you very much and I apologize for the inconvenience.
