Hi,

Thanks for trying out MapD

This likely means you do not have an instance of the MapD Database running on the server the mapdql client is trying to connect to.

With no parameters specified mapdql is looking for a server on localhost on port 9091

Please confirm MapD server is running,

If you have started it with systemd you can check its status with systemctl status mapd_server

hi, after may mapd crashed, I met this error too, said that cannot connect to port 9091,

When I check mapd_server and mapd_web_server status, I got this result

● mapd_server.service - MapD database server
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/mapd_server.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
Active: active (running) since Wed 2018-05-23 05:32:45 ; 41s ago
Main PID: 11476 (mapd_server)
Tasks: 11
Memory: 116.3M
CPU: 173ms
CGroup: /system.slice/mapd_server.service
└─11476 /opt/mapd/bin/mapd_server --config /var/lib/mapd/mapd.conf

whats wrong with my settings?

Hi,

Please share your environment details.

Can you please confirm you are not trying to run more than one instance of mapd without giving each instance a separate set of ports.
